Handmade Silver Jewellery
Inspired by
The Heart of Cork
Every street, spire and stone of Cork tells a story – and now, so does your jewellery.
At Ginger Fire Jewellery, I create handcrafted silver pieces that celebrate the soul of Cork City.
My designs are inspired by the architecture, landmarks, and little quirks that only locals and true Cork lovers will recognise – like the famous Goldie fish perched high above the city, or the cheeky slang that is so unmistakably Corkonian.
From the graceful lines of a steeple to the worn textures of an old brick wall, each piece is a tribute to the beauty often hidden in plain sight. My pendants, brooches and bangles carry echoes of Cork’s spirit – nostalgic, bold and full of character. You might find a phrase that makes you laugh, a symbol that stirs a memory, or a design that takes you back to your favourite corner of the city.
Whether you've lived here all your life, visited once and fell in love, or are sending a bit of Cork to someone far away – this is the jewellery for you.

Work Process
I held the idea of creating a homage to the Goldie fish for a good few years. Every time I looked up at him I’d be reminded. I started looking at pictures online and seeing the dramatic sky with this gold fish shining out against it. I started to draw the fish more and more, little sketches, doodles. But the big leap into jewellery creation was with a 3D printer. I played with the 3D printer until I held a little PLA fish in my hand. This gave me the kick start I needed. Sometimes when creating it's the starting that’s the trickiest.
I then took my newly printed fish and sand cast it. Once I had one sterling silver fish the energy and excitement of the process ignites more ideas and creating more models to cast from different materials. I played with mould making using my printed fish to create an impression. Using silver clay I created more fish.
Often when I make jewellery one thing leads to another and I started exploring the sky behind the fish. The clouds created an almost narrative quality. I develop design concepts through drawing ideas and making elements to move around and record composition of pieces.
Currently my clouds evolved and I added texture, but I didn’t just want any texture. It had to be a Cork texture. I started to notice textures in the pavements and manhole covers. Did you know how many different designs of manhole covers there are in Cork, it’s lots. So this has also crept in to some pieces. With some concepts the idea waves in and out of designs. Everything is growing and evolving but these foundations of ideas from Cork City stay at the core and you will see them surface from time to time in future collections.
Availability of Pieces
I will only do one-off and small batches of my pieces as everything is handmade using traditional methods. My designs keep evolving and new ideas ignite faster than I can keep up with. If you missed out on a piece you really wanted, it’s likely that I will make something similar to it in the future, but feel free to contact me to request a previous piece. There are a few staple designs that I will rework here and there, that i really enjoy making.
Some of the ones I love to do are customised by you. Using your words and phrases inside my bangle keeps things unique and interesting. I love hearing the stories that go behind the meanings.
Truly personal.

Why buy from Ginger Fire?
When you buy from my small jewellery business, you’re not just purchasing a unique, handcrafted piece - you’re supporting a local mum of three lively boys, always on the go with their sports and activities.
Each item is slowly and lovingly crafted by hand, by me, in the quiet moments between school runs, homework help, and the everyday chaos of family life. I’m a one-woman show, creating from my home workshop in Cork. That’s the beauty of it - every piece carries a little slice of real life, real Cork, and real love.
Your support means the world to us and shows my boys that it’s possible to follow your passion and build a career doing what you love.
